    using mail()

    Hello,

    I would like one moment to make clear:
    When I send an e-mail through mail() function - will it be send encoded or as plain text ? This security issue is highly important to me cos I would like to send some sensitive information through this function. Appreciate your suggestions. Thanks

    I'm pretty sure it's plain text. I have sent a bit of email with PHP and never seen any mention of encoding in the documentation or anywhere else.

    mail() just sends out the specified data in the official and standardised format as it would be done by each other mail client. If you need some kind of special handling like encrypting your content you need to do it by yourself.
