It did? Are you talking about page rank or what it lists when you type in site:yourdomain.com ?

Neither of these has updated for me

Still got 0 page rank and still have nothing but Vbulletin meta descriptions

yeap, it has certainly updated. But it did NOT bring me good news. I'm down for almost every keyword phrase.

It did the monthly updating of spidering sites and indexing them. Better here as I am trying some technique which partially succeeded But same page ranks.. Anyone has idea how the regular update is connected to page rank (if it is)?

Google updates virtually everyday. There's no such thing as "the big update" or "the google dance" anymore.

Is there a written thing about updating daily? Because I observe daily and I can only notice one major update monthly.

I don't think that PR has updated either, so basically: everything's normal; let's just let the thread die.

You mean that you don't think toolbar PR has updated, right?

    Anyone seen this site? http://www.rankpulse.com/

Looks like they do do larger updates now and then, but normally daily.

This is pretty good news for me, I now have 144,000 pages listed for me. I also have more backlinks (by searching for my site in quotes) but Google shows a tad less backlinks than before. AFAIK that is random though.

Google updates more than once a day. I don't see anything special today. Some moving around. A couple of the datacenters are pretty out of step so maybe seeing one of those come up seems like a big change to people.

I have saved the results of some keyword searches three or four weeks ago and have made some optimisation to my site that time. I have been waiting and checking daily until suddenly the result of my work are visible! I don't know about daily updates but I am sure it updated after a month. I do not have a visit after meta.

If your PR is low Google may not have stopped by to crawl your pages in a month. That's would explain why you didn't see any changes for your site.

It is 5. I don't think it is low, is it?

And stymiee, what do you mean by "google updates *virtually* everyday"?

5 is usually enough to get crawled regularly. Check your logs and see if how often you are getting hit.

And I said 'virtually' only because I don't watch Google like a hawk and it may very well be possible they skip days here and there for no apparent reason. Basically I was just covering my butt.

In the past couple of months, I've added new content and seen it show up in Google's SERPs a few days later. Like Styimee, it seems that Google lives on my Chemistry site. One section of new content I added last week is already ranking on page one of the Google for one of its target phrases.

I think overall, Google is becoming more aggressive with indexing sites and updating their indexes.

Wouldn't it be great if Yahoo! did the same thing? I'm sure my traffic would be higher from Yahoo! if they actually kept their index up2date. The future will tell!

Google updates very quickly now-a-days. It's consistently been less than 48 hours every time I make a new post to my blog that it gets updated. I don't find that a coincidence.
