    "localhost" is not recognized in Apache configuration file

    I am configuring Apache to install some component and I need to use the alias (?) "localhost" in its configuration file, but apparently it's not recognized. Because of that, I keep getting an error message, as I put the word in Apache configuration file. What am I missing? What do I need to do so that the server/Apache recognizes the word?

    I've been asking this in many forums, but I have not gotten any useful information yet. Please help me.

    Try accessing the alias in your browser or suchlike. If it doesn't work, check your HOSTS file starts "127.0.0.1 localhost" (found in WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC\ on Win.XP, don't know about 9x or NIX).

    Well, I've been looking into this problem for some time, and I found that "localhost" is actually recognized. However, the following line
    Code:
    	WebAppDeploy jsp conn /jsp/
    in the following code
    Code:
    <IfModule mod_webapp.c>
    	WebAppConnection conn warp localhost:8008
    	WebAppDeploy jsp conn /jsp/
    </IfModule>
    causes a problem. This is where I get the error message, "Invalid virtual host name." What is wrong with this line?

    should'nt the localhost be set 80, as in;

    WebAppConnection conn warp localhost:80

    and not 8008
