^ looks nice MW, maybe in the winter in Florida, but it seems more like a lunch. Although it also looks a lot like a Texas breakfast would, beans and sausage and bacon and tomatoes. Except there you would include some hot sauce.

Let me show you one of our breakfasts:

^ is reasonable about the breakfast

    Off Topic:

@ Irish breakfast... What do you mean, you just get up and eat all that? Are you kidding me!? My breakfast is usually just a cup of tea, that's all I can handle. Needless to say I'd die in pain after such an Irish breakfast. I mean how healthy is that at all?

    ^ hahaha

    Off Topic:

It is prosciutto, not bacon. The green things are green asparagus tips, the cup of coffee is not tea, the fruit is figs. Hope that clears it up for you Irish maiden?

^ Is depriving herself of a decent breakfast!

    Off Topic:

There's no real difference between English and Irish breakfast - there's a selection of items that you'll get sometimes but not others - but generally reappear again and again. Black pudding is getting rarer in the UK (at least down south).

One thing that you don't get over here and I absolutely LOVE is potato cakes. My Mum used to make them but I never got the recipe and the shop-bought ones I've had are horrible - too salty. So Mizwizzy, if you happen to have the recipe...

^ does not know about potato pancakes

    Off Topic:

Grate some raw potatoes and onions as well, add a touch of flour to bind the liquid that oozes out of them, add some salt. Add eggs. Fry up in a cast iron skillet with a good fat that can take the heat.

^ Has a nice recipe for potato pancakes but I'm actually after potato cakes which are different - mainly potato, milk and flour and are cooked in wedges in the oven then you can split them open and heap butter on them and watch it melt.... mmmmm (Homer moment)

    Off Topic:

are they made with cooked and riced potatoes? Like mashed potatoes, some flour added and then baked? That sounds great, I make some like that in the skillet some times. It is also a form of Potato Crocet

    ^ got me figured

    Off Topic:

just make mashed potatoes with milk or some cream if you dare, I would make them somewhat liquid. Add selfrising flour until you have got a dough like consistency, add a little grated nutmeg (not too much), put into form and dot with a little butter, bake in a med oven. I would say between 20 and 35 min, maybe more.

You can also make it real yummy by adding some grated cheese on top.
