    hi everyone,

could someone please check the rollovers i made for a nav bar?

if you can tell me your connection, browser and os, that would be great.

also, i was having problems with the rollover images getting cached, so if you know your cache settings please let me know.

    thanks in advance to everyone.

Just checked them using Windows 98 with IE 5.5 and NS 4.7 and they worked fine on my LAN connection.

Don't know about my caching system though, sorry.

    munky...

They work just fine for me.

    Win 2k
    T1 connect

    no clue on the caching..

One point, on my monitor, the "over" state is somewhat difficult to read. Maybe you could change the text on that to a white? It would really stand out against that red background.

    Worked fine for me too.

    Win NT4, 56K connection, IE5.5 and Opera 5.10

Not sure about the cache settings you're after but as I'm using ZoneAlarm I can tell you that re-rolling over the links didn't cause any repeated downloading.

Like creole, I think the over state is a tad difficult to read but I liked the semi-transparent effect.

win 98, 56k, IE 6. 800*600. Rollovers worked fine, site loaded v fast, don't know about cache (IE6 beta default..?).

I did fine the colours made the navigation hard to read in both states though...sorry

cool cool. thanks for the help guys.
i agree about the text. i will be changing the rollover color but i'm a little stuck with the colors for the rest of the site. the client has been established for a few years and the red and black are part of his image so i can't change it too much. perhaps i'll use lighter/bigger text to make it easier on the eyes.

as far as the caching is concerned. i was having trouble with IE downloading the over images every time i rolled over a link and NS wasn't. i thought that it was a compatibility issue but it looks like it was an IE cache setting. i had it set so that it checks for a new version of a page every time but set it not to so IE doesn't try to download the over image every time.

    thanks again for help......
