Hi. This is a stupid question, but how do I configure the php.ini file if I am using a web hosting company that has php 4 installed (www.cedant.com). I can view the file, but I want to know how to change the options.

    Thanks

    Hi,

lol...Your webhosting company certainly is not going to let you change the php.ini file.

Provided your hosting company allows .htaccess files you cange the values for the local scope of php.ini directives. Exmplae create a .htaccess file and place it in the web root.

    php_value name_of_directive "value"

    An example

    php_value auto_prepend_file "/usr/www/header.inc"

By doing that in the htaccess file you have set the valkue of the php directive auto_prepend_file to header.inc which would include that file into every php page.
