Where can I download T.V shows?

I would like to know were I can download T.V shows like the Simpons, Futurama, and Family Guy. I have looked on google forever and found dead links. I would like it to be on website or a ftp address. As I do not use IRC and have no clue how to.

    Thank-you for helping in advance,

    Kevin

Even if I did know of such sites I'd probably be banned from the forums for posting their respective links here. Go and buy the DVDs and don't be such a cheapskate.

Yeah, buy the DVD's. Youl'l never find HTTP/FTP-fed copies of it anyway, bittorent's the only thing that'll get you close to it.

I also recommend buying the DVDs if you need them so much.

Sure, there's P2P, torrents and other ways of downloading things. But then you have to deal with the legal issues, poor quality, copyright owners trying to protect what's rightfully theirs, and potentially viruses.

By buying the DVDs and such, yes it costs money, but then you're not comitting any offenses, putting yourself at any risk, and you get high-quality graphics and sound, plus all the bonus features that come with most DVD collections.

I very much agree. P2P's are getting dodgier by the day.

It's just like downloading movies and music (although downloading music, in theory, is legal in Canada).

You're not supposed to distribute taped TV shows with VHS, either.

But good call on ordering those. You'll get much better quality, faster.

Record them off the TV when the shows you like originally come on.

This is legal for personal in home use. That's why they have devices you can buy now that enable you to record shows into the memory of the device and then record a DVD and watch it anytime you want!

You could even get a graphics card for your PC equiped with a TV tuner and record directly to your har drive and burn a DVD from that.

Just make sure it's for private, in home use only...

If you get caught selling stuff like this you will be treated to an all expenses paid government vacation, where you'll get to meet "Big Bubba" who has given up on women altogether and likes to "poke" other guests with things when they bend over in the shower!

Yeah, I edited my post to make that clearer...

That's how things like TiVo are allowed to exist.

But you can't be selling or distributing anything you copy.

I wish there was a legal way to to download television - Cable /w premium channels is more expensive than my DSL & Phone services together.

They have ways to run your cable connection into your PC where you can record all the shows you want.

I don't know how to do it, but I've heard the technology is available.

For the latest running TV shows I get them from a certain site. Um, I'm not sure if this is legal or not. I always thought it was... Is it legal?

Not in most places, I don't think... although I'm not sure if it's ever been brought up in a lawsuit or anything.

Well, often you can buy them online.

If not though, it might not technically be legal... but you might not have to face legal issues because of it. For example, if you're downloading some obscure anime from Japan, the company that made it is unlikely to come after you, or even care that you're stealing it. If anything, it might show them a potential market in North America.

But Big Bubba is my friend- I met him while doing time for the whole hippopotamus and nestle chocolate incident...
