Netscape Navigator 4.0.8 on Mac and on PC - looks good! Flash spash movie plays then redirects to main page

Worked fine - excellent use of flash.

NS4.7 on Win95 (not my computer)
Worked fine. The loading time on a high school-shared dual T1 was slow, about 30 seconds. I was scared loading it because I thought it might make all sorts of weird sounds like Flash usually does, but I guess it didn't.

just out of curiousity...

why don't you download NS 4.7 yourself? It is free you know and can be used on the same system as NS 6.

Good point... I don't know why.

I wasn't sure it could be downloaded... I thought it was an older version. Also... I don't like Netscape.

It is quite a big download, but have a root through those Cds that you get in front of Internet magazines, usually they always contains different versions of browsers.

Also, check out http://browsers.evolt.org/ for every single browser ever released!! I thought it was too good to be true until I got all sorts of browsers, like Netscape 2. It's a web designer's dream come true...

Yeah that is a brilliant resource, I have it bookmarked. Problem is if you are on a 56k connection, like I am, the thought of downloading 15mb of Netscape puts me off it for life

15 MB would probably take my computer about 3 hours to download, I can rarely even be online that long at a time. (One phoneline)
