    MySQL Licensing question

Hey guys maybe you can help me with this,

If my company purchased a commercial license for MySQL and uses it for an internal web application, as a developer, can I freely download MySQL onto my dev box? Or would this be in violation of the commercial license? Thanks.

MySQL's license is written so that anyone can do whatever they want with the software, as long as the original copyright is maintained.

So, you can download it for development/private/commercial purposes and do whatever with it that you see fit. For more information, refer to this page.

If you bundle it with your commercial application then you have to buy the license. For your case you don't have to.
