    mail()

    Hey, I am making a academic related site as a favor to a friend, and its going on their College server.
    They claim to have PHP running, but my mail() call doesnt work (and it works fine on my own server).
    Is there an easy way to check if its disabled or if the settings are wrong? Keep in mind I dont have access to php.ini

    thanks!

    make a page with this code:
    PHP Code:
    <?php
    phpinfo
    ();
    ?>
    About halfway down you should see what the settings are for sendmail.

    You can temporary assign new values within your PHP scripts that will override values in the php.ini file (since you dont have access to it), if you find that you need to change something.

    Are you receiving an error "Call to undefined function"?

    Also, what platform is the server running on?

    Edit:

    doh, somebody else beat me to it

    no, not getting that error.

    its linux for sure, redhat i think

    the settings look ok, i think they mainly use windows servers, so they probably just didnt set it up properly

    thanks for the ideas

    ini_set()

    Try using ini_set()
