    Horizontal Scroll bar in textarea: Firefox

    Hey guys,

    I've got a text area for an email ... in IE when I type a mail it wraps on to the next line and only when I get to the bottom of the text area does the vertical scroll box become active.

    Website link here

    In Firefox when I type on line and get the the area where I would like it to wrap to the next line I get a horizontal scroll.

    Is there any way to remove this horizontal scroll?

    Currently I tried:
    overflow: auto;
    overflow: -moz-scrollbars-vertical;
    overflow: -moz-scrollbars-none;

    any ideas much appreciated.

    regards,

    Ronan

    P.S. Side note ... does anyone know why there is more white space in the IE version compared to the Firefox version??

    Hi,

    The textaree will wrap in mozilla as long as you enter text with normal spaces. If you enter a line of unbroken characters then it has no option but to add a scrollbar.

    Take out the margin-bottom here to get IE the same as moz.
    Code:
    div.row {
      width: 100%;
      clear: both;
      padding-top: 2px;

    }

    Hey paul,

    Thanks for that ... I didn't know that FireFox only passed broken text on to the next line - thanks for that.

    As for the margin-bottom ... I thought that would have added just a margin to the bottom of my row class ... but then it applys to all objects under row.

    Thanks for that

    Ronan
