    IE Mac Problems

    I've got this site displaying correctly in all Mac browsers except for IE (go figured). Haven't tested the site on a PC yet but doesn't really matter to much to me right now since this is a site for Apple/Mac users. But if somebody could take a gander at the site and give me some input on fixing the site for IE Mac that would be great.

    Hi,

    You didn't say what the problem was in IEPC.

    I notice that the top of the three columns are not in line unlike mozilla. This seems to be because you haven't specified the coorect height for #header and then used margins and padding to overcome it. Mozilla seems to be the browers that is wrong as it is inherriting the top margin.

    Something like this should get it back on track but will need tweaking.

    Code:
    #rap {
    width: 750px;
    margin: 0 auto;
    text-align: left;
    position: relative;
    padding: 0;
    border-top:1px solid #fff;/* for mozillas top margin-bug*/
    }
    #header {
    margin: 10px 0 0px 0;
    height: 97px;/*correct height*/
    text-align: center;
    font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;
    }
    html>body #header {
    right: 20px;
    }
    #content {
    position: absolute;
    top: 97px;
    left: 154px;
    margin: 0 140px 0 0;
    width: 400px;
    font-size: 0.9em;
    padding: 20px 20px 0 20px;
    }
    #left {
    float: left;
    margin: 10px 0 0 0;
    width: 150px;
    padding: 0 5px 10px 0px;
    font-family: verdana, helvetica, sans-serif;
    }
    #menu {
    float: right;
    margin:10px 0 0 0;
    width: 150px;
    padding: 0px 0px 10px 15px;
    font-family: verdana, helvetica, sans-serif;
    }
    Something like that anyway.

    Paul

    hey paul...you're correct in that being the issue with the columns. I made those corrections but the left and right columns are to far down...instead of fixing it in IE it actually made it the same problem across all the browsers...which i guess is actually a step in the right direction.

    Also, i just noticed, the left column is now sort of hanging out to the left some.

    Take a look at your padding and margins. I may have tweaked some of those as well as I had it lined up quite well on Firefox and ie but I just deleted the code

    If its displaying the same now then your on the right track

    If you can't sort it then I'll have another look in the daytime.

    Ah alrighty. Tweaking the margin and paddings and using some negative values seems to do the trick for everything. Awesome. Thanks Paul!

    Defeintely agreed. I HATE Mac IE. And since the release of 10.3.6 and v1.2.4 of Safari, I'm not a big fan of Safari anymore either. Firefox still brings all the goods though.
