    Also treat as Highly Confidential.
    Dear Mr. Garcia:

What part of highly confidential did you not understand? I don't believe that posting this in the internet is treating this in a confidential manner. Please send me your bank account information promptly and stop disseminating this all over.

The scammer was from the UK if I remember correctly.

There was a website for it, but the forum I found the story on originally is down atm.
You're probably thinking of 419eater.com. The guy who runs that site is from the UK. He has done that to a bunch of them. He gets the scammers to send him things like pics of themselves holding up stupid signs and other funny stuff. He even got a few to send money.

haha replying to those type of emails is so fun!

I usually say something along these lines:

"Using your IP I have traced where you live and we will pick it up tomorow morning at 6:30 with our military chopper No. 342, please have the money rolled in pennies or quarters by that time.

    Thank you."

Okay, I just e-mailed this response to mine:
Before I e-mail you my bank account numbers, I'll need some sort of identification from you. Honestly, why would I just GIVE you my bank account numbers without even knowing who you are? So if you could just e-mail me any sort of photo identification I'll be sure to give you my bank account number right away. Thanks John! I look forward to helping you!

Bah, you probably just lost him right there.
That email makes it sound like you have a clue, which is who these scammers don't want.

This is priceless. It's about time people started messing with these spammers.

Kind of reminded me of how some people like to take junk mail they get via regular snail mail and use those postage-paid envelopes to send back other junk mail. Fun stuff..

Crap.. I just read the FAQ on the 419 site. I had no idea how elaborate these scams were. I just figured the scammers were after some bank account numbers, but it goes so much further than that. Crazy...

Oh, and here was my response to him:
Hi John. Well, if you don't have legal photo identification, there is another option. I only help out people who are a member of our clan. If you are interested in joining the clan (its very easy to join) then please let me know so we can get this transfer underway. Thank you, and I look forward to you being a member of the Ylliserauoy Clan.
