    # of rows

Hi, i currently have 1.2 million rows in a table. Selects from it run very fast at the moment, but if I get 20-50 million, would it slow down dramatically?

    Thanks

Would you be selecting a lot of rows or only a few? How are the rows indexed?

With so many records you could almost start a data wharehouse and put old/archived data into it for later use.

Only a few would ever be selected. Tops of 1000, only 3 columns, and only intergers. I did however delete almost all 1.2 million rows. It's reduced to 130 now. Quite a jump down aye?

Lots and lots of useless rows, which shouldn't be inserted anymore.

It mainly depends on your indezes. Use them properly and there shouldn't be too many problems.
