    Could not fetch usernames

I downloaded MySql Administrator and inadvertaintly screwed up the settings on user 'root'.

Now when I run MySql Admin it will not show any users and I can not add any until the list refreshes but it cant.

Aghgh I am sorry if this easy but I am new to MySql.

    Thank you in advance.

    Hi,

It seems that it is quite messed up. You might have to reinstall MySQL.

    Yours, Erik.

I did rebooted then reinstalled and it was the same. Are there files the WIndows XP remove tool will not remove?

    Hi,

Do you get access to MySQL when connecting as root with no password (the default settings)?

    Yours, Erik.

    Hi,

Then it must be your administration tool that is causing the problem.

    Yours, Erik.

    Hi,

And you are sure that the login settings (username and password) for the administration tool are correct?

    Yours, Erik.
