    php open mdb help

    hi all - i have a link from a php page to a mdb file however when it tries to open i get this error

    This file is located outside your intranet or an untrusted site. Microsoft Access will not open the file due to potential security problems,
    To open the file, copy it to your machine or an accessible network location

    however i don't want to copy it to an accessible network location, i want it on the intranet

    any advice/help will be greatly appreciated

    EDIT - when i open it from htdocs it works fine

    To my knowledge, there is no way that a PHP script can read a Microsoft Access database. It will have to first be converted to say, a MySQL database.

    i'm not trying to read but just open in a blank page

    .xls and .doc work, can't see why .mdb shouldn't work

    HTML Code:
    	<a href="Activity_Log.mdb" target="_blank" onMouseOut="MM_swapImgRestore()" onMouseOver="MM_swapImage('Activity_log','','images/Activity_logdbI.png',1)"><img src="images/Activity_logdb.png" name="Activity_log" width="129" height="20" border="0"></a>

    But when you click on a link, you're browser attempts to open (i.e., read) the file, and you can't read a mdb file from a PHP script.
