    how do i monitor links

im doing an online report submission. actually its just a website wherein our employee submit their reports. we have several branches and reports were sent everyday. the problem now is everytime we retrieve the files to be downloaded, we get this list that display all files that were sent. the solution i'm am thinking is to create a page where we can see only the files that are marked unread. my question is how do i monitor if a link was clicked? please help...

That could be done creating a small script (i.e. download.php) which would receive as parameter (via GET) either the name of the file or the id. The script would perform two actions:

    a) Update your database to mark the file as read.
    b) Redirect to the file name so the download starts (with a header(), for example).

On the list of files, instead of linking directly to them, it would be something like:
    Code:
    http://www.yoursitename.com/download.php?file=filename.ext
    Hope it helps
