Anyone had any experience of converting a ('simple') MSSQL database into a MySQL database?

For example, is it possible to do a 'standard' SQL dump of all the table structures and data from a MSSQL database that, with little or no massagaing, can be loading into a MySQL database?

Or perhaps some sort of ODBC solution would enable easier porting from one to the other?

Can you tell I'm clutching at straws here a little bit? :-)

    Thanks for any help.

Although, I never exported to MySQL, MS SQL Server has a specific tool for import/export that should be able to handle this. It's the DTS Import/Export Wizard and should be installed with the standard client utilities.

If you are able to export your data from the MS SQL db into a text files (one for each table's data), then you can easily load a mysql table from a text file using LOAD DATA http://www.mysql.com/doc/L/O/LOAD_DATA.html
