Who is loosing the most money?

Yep, as suggested in the other thread.
    - "Make a Who is loosing the most money thread"

I thought about it and find it way more interresting compared with the "money" threads.

So, who is loosing the most money (on a montly basic) and why?

Yeah, funny thread, but I'm not sure who will own up.

But if you expect sites to pay their own operating costs, only one of my monster sites pays for itself - the rest operate at a loss of $1.50 a month (hosting+domain). But all up I am sitting on a massive profit of around $20 a month. woot.

The point of this thread is to see if anyone is spending more money on advertising/upkeep than they earn. This is is mostly because of bad investments or branding - would be excitet to see if people are actualy spending more money on branding that they earn?

I set up an All Posters affiliate site. Got spidered to death by MSNbot, then hit for an excess bandwidth charge. Finally pulled the site because of poor response.

End result -34 + my time.

I have some sites that haven't turned a profit yet, meaning I paid $XXXX for the site and have made $XXX on the site so far. I look at it as a long-term investment, though. So, if I pay $1000 for a site and net $100 a month, I don't consider it losing money.

I was a money loser for almost a year to start with. Then a couple of years of almost no profit. Now, I'm beginning to see nice profits. Mind you, in my humble experience, it takes a while for any content website to make a profit - you have to be patient.

There's hope for those who are still losing money - do not despair!

It depends how specific but since I started websites I've paid $xxxx(mostly hosting/domains) but have only received $xxx but have not seriously trying making profit from them for long. Have short term goals to seriously change the situation.

I haven't lost any money on a project yet. Still, there's this domain I've registered and never really had the time to work with.

I spent over $1,100 developing a dating web site, and will probably only get about $400 of it back by May, 2005. This is in addition to the monthly hosting costs -- $12.00 per month.

If I included my time and the rates I charge clients / make at work, I'd be loosing somewhere in the neighborhood of $1,500 a month. But then again, I enjoy doing it (as a hobby and at work) and in the next few months my works shall start repeaing their rewards Plus, the cents I make a day from various sites cover any/all hosting for my sites.
