    Phpbb forum loading slowly

    Hi guys,

It seems like my phpbb forum has been loading slowly lately. It's only been in the last couple weeks that I've noticed it. The content portion of the site loads quickly. The board isn't that busy--usually only 5-10 people online at any given time--so I'm not sure what is causing it.

Does anyone have any thoughts on what might be the problem?

    Thanks.

Possibly mySQL. How busy is the server?

You should contact your host. 9 times out of 10 it's a hosting issue, not an issue with the forum software itself.

I have experienced the same and the reasons turned out to be:

    1. Load on mysql (restart the server)
    2. Kernel updates (done it twice so far)
    3. or ultimately, server restart to clear any hangovers..

It seems that's always the option that works when it comes to computers

Turn on the cache query settings in MySQL. You'll be surprised how fast it can get.
