    IE footer clearing problem

    Hi all!

I'm having problems with pages on the following site in IE/Win (I've only tested in IE6 so far)

    http://www.bricknellschool.co.uk

Any page displays the same problem (although I haven't seen it on the home page yet I don't think... I develop on a Mac so don't keep as close an eye on IE/Win as I might) - when the page is first rendered, the footer often doesn't clear the content, yet on a refresh the problem is solved and the footer makes its way down to the bottom.

I've wracked my brains and can't see why this would be happening! The code (XHTML and CSS) is in part generated by a CMS, which although standards-compliant is messier than I would otherwise code by hand.

If anyone had any ideas why this might be so I'd be overjoyed!

Thanks ever so much in advance,

    Dave

The only thing I might suggest is adding a "clear:both;" to your #main-content instructions. I didn't test your site on IE (I don't run it on any sites but my own), but I couldn't find anything glaring in your code. IE is a little flaky at times so it doesn't hurt to be really specific about things.

    Hi there!

Thanks for the reply - I added a clearing div just before the footer and it seems to have worked. Why I didn't do that before I don't know! That's an irritating problem finally put to bed, thanks very much indeed.
