    IS this a valid SSI?
    <!--#include virtual="http://www.domain.com/file.txt" -->

    I was trying to use the above SSI on a site, however, the object is on another server(e.g. www.domain.com). Is this possible?

    I get this message [an error occurred while processing this directive] all the time.

    Please help.

    No, you can't use SSI to open files across HTTP. However, there are ways to include (read in) a remote file. One way that I know of is with PHP's "readfile" function. I'd figure ASP has similar functionality if your server doesn't support PHP.

    Heh, I wish I knew... I'm not a programmer. But PHP.net may have some info you can use.

    Well, no matter, you would need to have permissions on the remote server. Try posting in the "Server-Side Scripting" Category for more help.

    Hope this helps!
