Getting rid of search page in IE's about:blank

When I click IE automatically a search page appears. I dont think its taking it from the web. The default page is about:blank. How do I get rid of it ?

Have you tried changing the home page to something else? Or have you ran any antivirus or spybot software?

you're infected with spyware 101%
I used to catch some f****** anoying spyware, can't remember it's name...
but I had the similar symptoms..

open the task manager, and see if you're running any strange processes (you can always enter the process name in google and get a good explanation what it does, is it infectable, what is the risk of being infected, etc etc...)
if you find any strange, close them immediatly,
run antivirus, spyware scans, and also try running "Hijack this" to see if there are any suspicios things on your machine.

Also, try running this in SAFE MODE, because some spyware makes it's folders "system" (invisible), and then, some scanners will just skip them...

P.S.: Some types of scumware is very hard to remove (scan, and click on remove won't help), so be patient, and keep trying

I had the some problem and tried several tools to get rid of it.

In my opinion the best way to deal with this is a software called "HijackThis". It is
a "manual" spyware remover and will enable you to deal with any spyware as long as you know what you are doing.

I have had a few run-ins w/ this virus/hijacker. The newer versions of this crap have been the cause of system re-loads.

Thanks. I tried a lot of utilites to get rid of it and HijackThis was excellent too. But the final solution is FireFox !
