    Redesign of 2BigFeet.com E-Commerce Site

We are redesigning 2BigFeet.com for several reasons - we are dropping women's shoes so we need to make substantial changes to the layout anyway.

We decided to design a standards-compliant all-CSS layout that loads faster and has more usable space than our old design.

    Below is the new design:

    http://www.2bigfeet.com/2bfnew/

and the old design (our current working site):

    http://www.2bigfeet.com/

I'd appreciate any comments or suggestions anyone may have. Thanks!

    Beley,

I know that you are working on this site so you may already be aware of my commentsviewed in IE, 1024 screen)

    Top links are not working

Double imprint on top links over Our Guarantee etc

Left block touches too closely the letters of your main Text.

    Left Block not straight

Photos on front page are clear

Bottom links: Pipe after About Us not spaced correctly.

Scrolling needed to see the whole page I don't mind just letting you know. I have given up on 800 by 600 but you are two sizes above that.....

I am sure you will iron out these small points when you are finished.

The site layout was clear and simple, good.

What version of IE are you using? I don't know what you mean by "double imprint" on the top links. What size was the browser window? Was it maximized?

It should also scale down to 800x600 just fine...

By the way, none of the links work... it's just one test page until we get all the bugs worked out.

    Brandon,

I am using IE 6.2 full normal screen, 1024 size.

    1) Read More- over Guarantee

    2) Testimonials -over Customer service

    3) If you look at Privacy Policies: After Pol I have to scroll to the right. I would guess you can see about half the screen.

Note I am not having any problems with other sites....

I am going running now but will try to check later for you to see if it is fixed.

    Good luck!

    Brandon,

Sorry for the delay I just got home.

I checked and the site looks the same. By the way the old site looks fine. It is your under construction site that has the problems.

I would be happy to post a good full size screen shot if you give me step by step instructions. I just viewed the site hit- Print Screen -and pasted to Word. The screen print came out small, you can barely see the overprint that I mentioned to you. Also I was unable to paste the screen print to this forum.
When I right clicked Paste was not available.

Do you have an image program like Photoshop or Fireworks you can paste the screenshot into? If not, just make the word page setup wide (landscape) and paste it in that way.

    I appreciate your help!!

    Brandon,

I have Photoshop but the screen paste looks only slightly better.

Either way how do I paste into a forum posting. I am not having much luck with that.

If you hit the printscreen and open photoshop, when you go to create a new document it should be the size of the printscreen automatically. Just paste the screenshot in the photoshop document and save as a JPEG.

You may not be able to upload here - may be too big. You can email to me at brandon --at-- brandoneley.com (replace the --at-- with @).

If it's too much trouble, don't worry about it. I just have screenshots from just about every browser and operating system and can't find anything like what you're talking about. Would be very interested in seeing it.

    Thanks

Nice site you should maybe have a non-animal constructed shoe section as some costumers do like this.

I could not find size 55 triple wide but whatever

    Looks good Brandon.

    Could be improved:

    - The titles of your left col link categories might look better alligned to the left. Having them centered just makes them look a bit out-of-the-flow to me.

    - I realise it's a fluid site, but the text lines are way too long, even on 1024. Is it possible to put around 20% padding on the right or something?

    The code is excellent.

Ok fine for a shop site.Though I do wish people would be more imaginative, but I gess download times and useability are more important here.
I found that the pop up window to see shoes in a large window wasn't much bigger than the main view.
Maybe you would speed up download times if maybe the normal view was smaller so there was a bigger difference between the main view and the larger ones, otherwize I can't see the point of the function.
Of cource you could make the large view even bigger.
Site works fine in Safari on emac.
