i am not sure where to post this question, because there seems to be no forum for OS.

I have a win2k server. I just installed running service pack 3, am just updating to service pack 4 now.

i normally get the error, windows is shutting down in 60mins. pleases save your work. and shows a path to c:\winnt\system32\lssas.exe

I am wondering if this is a lasser worm or what ? cos i have had to format a couple of times, but still get the error.

what do i do ? Any Advice ?

you have missed a component may be which is unable to retain the system boot. Check for entire OS

i also faced the same problem a few months back(OS:- Win Xp)...but that was due to RPC..went to services and fixed it..now no errors :-)

the sasser virus shuts down the pc in 60 seconds though, not 60 minutes..or are there different versions of the sasser virus out there?

I think there are different versions. I've only seen the 60 second one. Maybe it was a typing mistake? I had that virus on my laptop... it was extremely annoying.
