What are you trying to do specifically? Are you doing something that could be classified as a guestbook? If so, there are plenty of scripts that you could use that let you save form data into a flat text file. One approach I've seen and used is to write out each entry on one line, with the fields separated by a string (like "++") and the records separated by another string (like "**"). To output the data in a table, the file is read in and split into tokens with the record delimiter, and then further by the field delimiters. Does that sound like what you want?

If you want to find a good guestbook script, http://php.resourceindex.com has a lot of good guestbook scripts.

Finally found the guestbook script that I was talking about --
http://www.kill-9.dk/PHP-Guest.php -- another nice thing I liked from their script was the use of templates with the flat text files.

http://www.hotscripts.com/PHP/Script...ms/Guestbooks/ is another place where you can get some guestbook scripts

you can store data in text files, although it would be extremely hard to make a guestbook/message board with it. It is possible, though.

    Hi,

I'm making a guestbook script that should be finished later today hopefully.

It is quite advanced, Ie, require email / comment/ name
    Total Customization
    Tempaltes stored in the database
Format the way the guestbook is outputted
    Host Multiple templates...

    etc....

I can tell you when it is completed if you want.

Peter, I think that would be helpful for people if you posted a link to the completed script.. I know I'm always interested in seeing different ways of coding similar applications

I think we might be going off the topic though since LemonZone mentioned that sql can't be used (unless by templates stored in the database, you mean a text database!)
