Site Mockup Help & Critique - Thank you

    Hi everyone,

    How are you all doing?

I need your expert opinions Please e-mail or PM me directly so I don't miss anything. Thank you

My WD did these 2 mockups that I like, yet I'm having certain issues that I would like help deciding on.

    http://www.currentswillshift.net/dotkraft/ep/new4.html
    http://www.currentswillshift.net/dotkraft/ep/new5.html

This site needs to address both males & females from ages around 18-40.

The site is geared towards people who want ways to make money, primarily in the escort industry, so I want the site to be a bit exciting to pump them up, yet professional looking. Not cheap & sleazy. What colours do you think would work best that will make them buy my e-books?

The blue seems too stark to me & too masculine.

Disregard the logo, I have to get it changed back to what my logo looks like now http://www.exoticpublishing.com or depending on what colours I finally decide on, change the logo colours to match.

Other things I need help deciding on, is what image to put on the top banner? Any suggestions?

I think the tagline should be a smaller font & go on 2 lines, not one.

If you scroll down to the bottom, you'll see I need to place the Live Human gif somewhere & I don't know where. Also, the toll free number that I don't have yet, but I plan to get in a couple of months, so I need to leave room for it. Where do you think both of these should go?

As you can see, she put the ezine sign up area in the middle of the left nav. I wanted it on the left side so people will sign up. Do you think I should put it at the top b4 the left nav starts, or leave it in the middle? I'm afraid people will sign up & then not scroll down to the other menu links.

If you look at the first mockup, she put 2 box areas on the right side. One is supposed to be for my testimonials, that she's going to do in flash & the other one I don't know what to use for.

In the 2nd mockup she eliminated them. I think I should keep at least one, or place the Live Human in the 2nd area. What do you think?

I like the top nav, I just want to change the colours so they all relate.

Okay I think that's about it for now. Any other suggestions would be helpful

Thanks so much & have a great night

I like parts of both but if I had to choose I like the first mock up the best with the exception that the left column is a little too narrow. Also, I would tell your designer to make the entire site fit in a 800x600 monitor (I know most people have higher resolutions but its standard), right now they are just too wide.

Aside from all the critiques you've made yourself I have 2 critiques. The first one would be that the colors scheme isnt exciting to me. They feel to earthy and neutral for it to be exotic and exciting. The colors just don't represent that industry to me. The second critique ties with the colors in that nothing about your site really tells me that its about opening an escort service. Feels more like a book club.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Trinity,

    Thanks for that.

Yes, the colours are now being changed. My VA came up w/ some suggestions. I'm hoping that will do the trick.

As for the layout & web copy, I'm currently looking for someone who is very experienced in this area.

Some people say the original site is confusing, while otheres think it's very self explanatory.

I realize I need to try & make things clearer even though most people who come to my site are already looking for information in the industry.

Do you know of any really good web copiers who know how to deal w/ this kind of thing meaning layout of each page, the web copy, making the site sell etc.?

I have a consultant I'm waiting to hear back from tomorrow, but want to keep others in mind.

Thanks & have a fab day

Since your already changing the colors, my only suggestion is to spice it up. It looks to plain. Maybe add grads in the plain backgorunds, use stock photos, or whatever. Add flashy little stars and stuff.
On the color note, blue is too popular, go orange red or green.

    lol

Okay, before I comment on anything...I want to open up my own escort service. Man, some of the women being offered around here are horrible. I know I could run a better service with better women than anyone

Let me take a better look through your stuff and comment about that in a second.

LOL, well you know where to find me when you are ready to open.

Okay, the template has been changed.

    Please take a look...

http://www.dotkraft.com/clients/ep/tmpl5-1.jpg - first one which she moved most over to the 2nd one.

    http://www.currentswillshift.net/www.../ep/epnew.html (2nd & latest one.)

Keep in mind, by tomorrow more changes will have been made.

What I'm having trouble with is figuring out what colours should go on the logo. I don't want more red & also it looks stupid just sitting there in the white space. Yes I know it has to be moved over to the right a bit, but what else can I do to make it seem more like it's really part of the design?

    Suggestions anyone?

    Thanks & have a good night !

Interesting business -- and onto the site. Very clean look -- I like it alot. On the whitespace, I would move the "person sitting at desk" image up to the top, right below the top nav bar. I would reduce the "guiding you" image to extend down to the bottom of the person sitting at the desk.

So you would have a top section with the big image, the logo, and the "guiding you" image blocked together. The rest of the page would extend below that.

    Good luck...

I like the second layout! It looks much more professional and catches my eye more. Just a heads up though, the layout does not work in Firefox. Other than that, GREAT WORK!

I like both of them now that you'e added the image and stuff. If I had to chose I'd say the second one simply because I like how the navigation on the left was done opposed to the first one. Looks very professional to me. I think you've got a good one going.
