Left column doesn't want to go all the way down

I have a problem with the website i am trying to design in css
if you look at this page you see that the left menu column doen't go all the way down if the content on the right is to long.

I am tying to get the css right for days now, and i am gooing crazy. Does anybody know an answer for my css problem.

Hi,

I think that the easiest solution to this problem would be to use a background-image. That way, it will always be repeated to the end of the page and it would work properly in every browser that support CSS.

there is a background image in that menu <div>, the div doen't go the whole way down
