I agree. At any rate, political posts are not allowed in the forums. If you need to express your opinions, please go elsewhere and do it.

If you think my post was political (and not the other), then I have a bridge to sell you.

I didn't mean to imply that your post was political. I was trying to use your quote as a backup to my own comment. Sorry for the confusion.

Actually, I'm not sure that last statement of jokaroo (uneditted) was really all that political.

He was saying that there was a rise of the Canadian dollar at about the time Bush was decided the winner.

That's not "Bush bad". That's not "US bad". That's, "the election of one person over another had an impact on a financial market" which is not that crazy of an assertion.

However, the election is fairly insignificant in comparison to the larger trend of CAD gaining on USD which is pretty steady on the 2y graph.

The last thing we need is for somebody to start arguing about bush this and bush that. It's better to just nip it in the bud before it turns into a political argument.

Everyone outside the USA certainly does have the option of working to devalue YOUR nation's currency to make it more valuable against $USD

Your could focus on your own nations monetary policies and politics and work for change rather than complain about the USA's policies.

samsm is correct. I think some people here are being a little over sensitive to be honest.

    Why is it bizzare?

There must 2 currencies involved for currency "A" to be weak or strong against currency "B."

Isn't it more than logical to say that, rather than complain about the other nations monetary policy, it would be more effective for you to complain about your own nation's monetary policy and work to change that.

Many American's are pleased that the $USD is weak. It means USA goods are cheaper for the rest of the world to buy. If you don't like it change things in your nation.

Aren't there any Canadian/Australian/British/[InsertYourCountryHere] affiliate/ad/etc. programs so that you don't have to worry about exchange rates? Or, I suppose you could start your own.

    Sums up everything nicely.

If the dollar is weak, then try to invest in your currency.

But that is not the case here. The US dollar is weakening not the other way around. You can't flip it and say, "because the US dollar is weakening lets cause our/their currency to dump as well".
