    I'm looking to create the phrase ".com" but have it orientated vertically (running bottom to top, opposed to left-right.)

    I know I can use a graphic, but the page I am using it on is likely to be high traffic and bandwidth will be a large consideration. The rest of my site uses CSS for the titles and a series of IE only filters to brighten it up.

    Is there any alternative to creating a graphic, I foresee it to be much less bandwidth intensive to have a <td> with text set to a "vertical" orientation???

    Is it possible?

    thanks

    Mike

    I don't believe there is a way to set a "vertical orientation" attribute. You could have a narrow cell, though.

    <td>
    C<br>
    O<br>
    M<br>
    </td>

    Thanks for the reply, after an hour solid of searching the net and various html/javascript type places I have found nothing. I havn't even found something that I can adapt.

    I just find it hard to believe that you can get a dhtml script that creates flowing, snake-like, bouncing, rotating text but there isn't an easy way to do a 90 degree rotation

    I think that the graphic is gonna be my only option unless someone knows a quick javascript way of doing it???

    many thanks

    Personally I think westmich's idea is a good one as if you use dhtml, javascript, etc you will probably slow down your page as much as using a graphic.
    body { background:#000000; color:#000000 }
    HEY, WHO TURNED OUT THE LIGHTS?!?
    Easy come easy go!!!
