    Question on Reporting Posts

I started to report a post today, but what stopped me was this:
This is ONLY to be used to report spam, advertising messages, and problematic (harassment, fighting, or rude) posts.
It doesn't really fall into one of those categories, it's just in the wrong forum. So are we just supposed to wait for a moderator to discover it, or is it appropriate to report something like that? If it's appropriate to report, shouldn't the above message be changed to reflect that?

It is appropriate to use the report button for that.

The message is essentially to stop people posting via the report button (which amazingly does happen!)

If you feel you need to use the report button then use it

    Hello

That's cool, I have also often wondered if it was acceptable to "report a post" just for being in the worng forum. I normally just report SPAM posts.

    Thanks for the info Sarah

    Now I know

    Thanks
    Johnny

You could consider a post in the wrong forum a 'problematic' post.

The warning message is a feature of vbulletin and is not intended to scare you or to indicate prior misuse we've experienced.

What the Report Bad Post feature does is sends an email to all of the advisors who are moderators of that forum. If anything needs to be done to a post, and only an advisor can do it, then feel free to report it to us
