    Smile Need help in creting web interface to edit any config files

    Hi all,


    PHP

    I jus need some suggestions or previous expereinces or ideas in creating web interface to edit any config files. I have a some config files in my applivcation. Now i want to give web interface so that it can changed easily.

    Has anybody got any code alrady in PHP?

    can you? I doubt if you can put and save the file called config or any other. Though you may be able to open and read but save the content back in the same server, hmm, I doubt, forum, any help...............

    It depends what you mean by 'config' files and what impact they would have on the site if changed incorrectly. ie: if the user mistakenly changed something and 'lost' the site.

    My experience of users having direct access to servers and files is a painful one! Out of hours phone calls and desperate emails because they have deleted the site!

    Think carefully about what accesss you are giving to an 'untrained' user and what the repercussions would be.

    If you really want to give them this kind of control, look at the ftp functions in the manual as a suggestion.
