    FC auditing..argh!

ive just written off to FC about their "daily auditing" procedure...its really starting to get to me (note the numbers below..lots of lost earnings) - seems like noone has had a response from FC about it before, so I decided to ask them myself, hopefully they will get back to me (im not holding my breath though..) - hopefully one of the reps on the board will see this and respond publically instead (seeing as this is quite a bit issue on here!)

    Hi,

could you please tell me what the "daily auditing" of impressions consists of? Ive never heard of
this on any other network, and if you look at the figures below, you can see that im loosing 9,000
banner impressions a day which could have gone to my default chain.

    728/468 earnings - oct 13th
    BEFORE : Oct 13, 2004 34,456 225 0.67% $0.46 $15.87
    AFTER : Oct 13, 2004 25,679 219 0.87% $0.45 $11.61

    combined earnings - oct 13th
    BEFORE : Oct 13, 2004 $0.00 $11.61 $6.59 $10.91 $3.01 $1.16 $10.63 $0.15 $0.00 $44.06
    AFTER : Oct 13, 2004 $0.00 $15.87 $7.13 $15.19 $3.15 $1.17 $13.91 $0.16 $0.00 $56.59

loosing $12 a day (a whopping 21%!!) every day is simply unacceptable. Ive always simply accepted it
as something that you do, but now the figures are so large, I would really like a detailed
explanation as to what happens behind the scenes, and why it isnt done in realtime.

    Please let me know ASAP.

    thanks,
    Stephen

It actually pretty normal if you get more than 8-9 pageviews per unique. I had this problem several times. They audit more at certain times than others.

It's not normal that they are making the impressions disappear rather than serving them to defaults like other networks.

oops, yes, I did have them the wrong way around. but still..I think they got the message...heres the reply.

All campaigns are audited every 24 hours for IP frequency capping and IP
fraud with respect to repeat impressions and clicks. Typically a small
percentage of the day's total traffic is credited back to the
advertisers affected. If all users were cookied, we would not have to
do this (cookie auditing is done in real-time), and it is a necessity to
keep the advertisers coming back. It also allows us to keep paying our
    publishers 65%.
so...what they are saying, is that 20% of my audience doesnt have cookies enabled, thats interesting, because 98% have javascript enabled, and I imagine around that % will have cookies enabled..not according to them.

not a great answer to the question, but it looks like there is nothing we can do. FC is a great network, they payouts are the best that ive seen, but it is VERY VERY annoying to lose so much money each day

I've been keeping close track of my numbers all month long. Mainly just on the earnings side and not the impressions side.

What I find absolutely ridiculous is that ALL of my numbers (even October 1st) change on a daily basis. It's like this every day.

I don't get it, and wish I could ditch them all together because it doesn't make me feel very secure.
