Alkaline Trio is my favorite punk band EVER. Brand New is right behind 'em.

Darker emo stuff = Glassjaw. Holy crap, Glassjaw destroys. I also like Finch a little bit, but for the most part I'm into heavier stuff.

Hatebreed, The Hope Conspiracy, From Autumn to Ashes, Dilinger Escape Plan, etc. Love Hardcore, love Metal. I even started a Hardcore/humorcore band. http://psychostick.com, http://myspace.com/psychostick

    Sorry. Stupid plug.

Anyway, yeah. Just my favs. Not all of them, but key ones. Yay!
Sing in a band called Psychostick, Alfredo Afro.

    Hello

I listen to old(er) punk: NOFX, Bad Religion, No use for a name, etc.
Bad Religion is playing in Dallas tonight.

    My recommendations:

    • Dead Kennedys
    • He Who Corrupts
    • Flesh Parade
    • Septic Death
    • Circle Jerks

Umm, Dashboard Confessionals perhaps? (Sorry if they're not obscure enough - limited exposure over here at the other end of the globe.)

It's not really the same as those bands, but I recommend AFI.

I disagree. While I do like their old stuff, I think Sing the Sorrow was brilliant... followed closely by The Art of Drowning. (Their most recent and second-most recent albums, respectively).

You should try Lupe Fiasco, Cartel, Head Automatica and Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. You check out their songs at http://www.mtvu.com/music/discover_and_download/. Beloved (Us) are pretty cool too. Let me know what you think.

Sing the Sorrow was beyond brilliant. Great album. I also really liked decemberunderground - some great heavier tracks.

I love my punk, and when I say "punk", I actually mean punk. None of this "SIMPLE PLAN!!11 FTWLLLOL". Real punk is AFI, NoFX, A Change of Pace, Millencollin, Avenged Sevenfold (they're kinda punk), etc. Bands with talent and skills. I also used to like Lost Prophets, that song "To hell we ride" is one of the greatest ever, unfortunately they've turned all emo now.
