Border dotted/dashed rendering

is there any hack or javascript or something that will render dotted/dashed borders normally in IE instead of how they currently portray them.

Yeah, just make your dotted border wider than 1px and IE will show dots instead of dashes. Lame? Yes, but that's all we got
