    Are your Reciprocal links dead?

You guys probably recognized that Google updated its PR last week.

I did some intense studies with my reciprocal link partners and found out that non of them were counted when using the backlink tool.

Is reciprocal linking dead? For sure a pattern has emerged.

    Example:

I have 5 site from which are linking to all eachother exept one site. This one site only gets links from the other 4 site but does not link to them. For this on site Google listed all other 4 sites as backlinks.

Do a backlink check on Yahoo or MSN, they will show a lot more of your backlinks than Google. For reasons known only to Google they are not showing as many backlinks. IMHO they are still counting all those backlinks in your PR.

You could find numerous examples of reciprical links showing up in the backlinks with Google among my websites. I wouldn't place any importance on your findings, as others have pointed out, it's just a Google quirk.

Google link: parameter is of no use nowadays and you can try using the yahoo for the same also yahoo has linkdomain: which shows links pointing to domain rather than a page.

I added many links to one site and it stayed Pr3. Another site was neglected somewhat and it went straight to a Pr4. I don't understand.
