hello everybody,
i really need your help on this. i am just in the process of coding a little portfolio-site for a friend.
i'd be happy if this thread turns into a lively and fertile discussion on this topic.
you can have a look at it here: www.alexwunderlich.de
the css file you will find here: css file
i hope the code is formatted well enough, so anybody can understand it...
-site validates well in xhtml strict
-shows up fine in firefox, opera7, and ie6 on windows
but now the trouble starts here:
-ie5/win doesn't apply the css for the text displayed on this page: vita
-i know, the boxmodel hack hasn't been applied yet, but thats my least problem right now, since that seems to be easy to fix
-the site MUST render nicely on any mac:
ie5/mac absolutely kills the layout! and i think it's not just a box model problem, is it?
who can help me with this ie5/mac issue?
adding up to this, early versions of safari break the navigation bar on top of the page for some strange reason.
ANY HELP and SUGGESTIONS are very wellcome!
i am really trying to do my best in writing good standards compliant code that validates - but as a newbie i am really stuck here.
and no, i don't tell me to use tables instead - that's not an option.
thanx in advance,
operon
