    Help with ftp

This post doesn't seem to fit anywhere else, but I apologise if this is not the right place to post it.

I'm having this strange error with my ftp. The first time I tried to install CutePHP, a seemingly undeletable (is that a word?) file was left in my ftp. I tried everything and couldn't delete it, so I just "pushed it out of the way". I reinstalled CutePHP again and it left ANOTHER undeletable file on my site! So now I've got a folder full of files that serve no purpose. I'd like to delete these files, but how?

I've checked and rechecked the CHMOD, so I don't think it's that.

This is the error I get every time I try to delete the undeletable files:

ERROR:> Requested action not taken (e.g., file or directory not found, no access).

I tried closing my ftp and reopening it in case I was actually trying to delete a file that was no longer in my ftp but when I reopened it, the directory was still there.

    Help?

The problem seems to lie in the /emoticons folder, and there's two /emoticons folders. It's like this:

    The first undeletable file/folder:
junk folder > yfgzysd > cutenews > data > emoticons

    The second undeletable file/folder:
junk folder > updates > data > emoticons

As you can see, I even tried renaming the original undeletable files/folders.
