Desktop at home for everything but writing. I don't know why but I really like writing on the laptop more. By writing I mean essays and stuff.

I almost got a laptop for portability, I'm not an inside person and taking a laptop to the beach not far from my house to do some work seemed like a great idea. However 30gb drive in the laptop I was looking at compared to the 400gb storage I have in my desktop, just doesn't compare.

I don't know if I cold ever go back to a desktop now that I have a laptop. The fact that I can take it on the road with me, or just pick up and move from one room to another at home makes it worth the extra $$.

A while back I had a new feature to add to my site. I took the laptop with me when I took my daughter to soccer practice, and wrote the entire script while waiting in the car. As soon as I got home I was able to upload to my test system.

Have both.. I normally only use my laptop when traveling. I guess my sticky fingers can't handle that small keyboard the majority of the time.

I use both - a desktop as my hub, and a wireless laptop which I use to roam around and make myself comfortable, and to get a little variety.

I use a laptop because I needed its portability whilst in graduate school. Now I just love it, though I really need a larger hard drive. It's only about 9-somethin' gigs, and I'm constantly moving stuff around between my laptop and our home network or archiving stuff on CD. V. frustrating.

But that's neither here nor there. Heh.
