    style sheet for handheld devices

Not sure if this is the right forum for this post... How can you tell if visitors are accessing your site with handheld devices? I was thinking about marking up an alternative style sheet, but I was wondering how to tell if it's worth it at this point? Is there a different OS I should look for in the stats report? Thanks...

Still it might be worth a read.

If you look in the HTTP headers you can search for "vnd.wap" in HTTP_ACCEPT and be pretty sure that you're serving pages to a WAP browser. As far as a client-side solution, Paul's link should help you out somewhat, but remember that mobile CSS is a battlefield that's about 100 times worse than screen CSS because there are so many providers and browsers.
