    Unhappy Only working in IE! Arrrgggghhhh!!!

    Hi,

    Having some major problems with my layout. Oddly enough, it looks fine in ie6 but in firefox, netscape and opera the side nav looks like it has collapsed on it's self! Any help would be great!

    You can view the page here:

    and the stylesheet here:

    Thanks,
    cliff.

    Hi,

    You have three problems that I can see.

    1) The gaps in the layout can be cured by setting the appropriate images to display:block.
    Code:
    #side_bott img, #content_top img ,#content_bott img{display:block;}
    2)The side menu is collapsing because you have set the height to zero which mozilla obeys. Set the height to something suitable as below. (If you set line and height to the same then you do away with top and bottom padding and the broken box model and still centre the text)

    Code:
    #navlist a {
     display: block;
     padding: 0 2px 0 15px;
     background-image:  url(http://www.enhance.ie/2005_b/images/side_back_1.jpg);
     background-repeat: no-repeat;
     background-position: 0% 50%;
     height:25px;
     line-height: 25px;
    }
    3) You have set the list-image in the body definition which is giving you bullet images on all lists so get rif of that style from the body.

    4) (I can't count) You have set your paragraph tags like this <p /> which is incorrect and they should be proper opening and closing tags <p></p>. The only xhtml tags that you can do like that are tags that don't have closing tags as standard such as <br /> <img /> (+ a few others such as meta, link and anything I've forgotton.)

    I think thats it
