    For my

    Php 4.3.8
    MySQL 4.0.21

Also are any of these too weak for a production environment?

They're all fine, however PHP 4.3.9 is out, should try and use the most up-to-datwe versions of everything where possible. For FTP server, are you running Windows or Linux? Linux, I'd go with proftpd or pure-ftpd, I don't know of any free Windows FTP server so you may have to look around for that.

I'll second proftpd. Just installed it recently (was a piece of cake to install and configure) and it's been rock solid so far.

For limited purposes you could use the built in win ftp. The limit is 10 users on XP but it works in some environments.

Re:Looking for best open source FTP server

In my point of view you will try AnyClient .
Because It is a free platform independent file transfer application that supports all major file transfer protocols including FTP/S, SFTP and WebDAV/S.No software installation required for it.

I Hope my suggestion can solve your problem.

I recommend FileZilla too! It has a lot of features, easy to configure!
