It'd be so much easier to browse the template/sales forums if, when I clicked a link, it didnt open in the same window.
Anyone know how to rectify this situation?

It's been discussed many times. There was a link you could click (you might want to search for it) that let you choose, but I have no idea if it survived the update to VB 3.0.3.

I'm sure they'll add the hack that had the links open in a new window back in again once they get the update settled.

Yes the hack is coming back. No there's no exact time on it. Expect it in the not-too-distant future.
To open a link in a new window, hold Shift while you click with the mouse. Alternatively, right-click the link and choose 'Open in new window'. This works with all links.

Hi All, Tom is looking to get all hacks re-introduced but as you can imagine there are a number of themplus he is also being asked to fix other issues.

Links in posts open in a new window by default in VB and have as long as I've used it on my site, and it's that way with any other vB site. I don't know why it's different on Sitepoint. I am constantly closing windows opened with links here (in the same window) instead of hitting the back button, because I'm not used to it.

SitePoint places a value on being standards-compliant. It's a good thing. After awhile you don't notice it (and I very much favor the change now.)Originally Posted by SVTBlackLight01
