Any way to get sitepoint to open links in a new browser?

It'd be so much easier to browse the template/sales forums if, when I clicked a link, it didnt open in the same window.

Anyone know how to rectify this situation?

It's been discussed many times. There was a link you could click (you might want to search for it) that let you choose, but I have no idea if it survived the update to VB 3.0.3.

I'm sure they'll add the hack that had the links open in a new window back in again once they get the update settled.

Yes the hack is coming back. No there's no exact time on it. Expect it in the not-too-distant future.

To open a link in a new window, hold Shift while you click with the mouse. Alternatively, right-click the link and choose 'Open in new window'. This works with all links.

Hi All, Tom is looking to get all hacks re-introduced but as you can imagine there are a number of them plus he is also being asked to fix other issues.

Please be patient and we will get it all back for you smoothly.

    Thanks

Links in posts open in a new window by default in VB and have as long as I've used it on my site, and it's that way with any other vB site. I don't know why it's different on Sitepoint. I am constantly closing windows opened with links here (in the same window) instead of hitting the back button, because I'm not used to it.

SitePoint places a value on being standards-compliant. It's a good thing. After awhile you don't notice it (and I very much favor the change now.)
