Question A little IE hiccup !

    Hey there !!

I feel like a bit of an idiot... I already had this page looking sweet. Went away. Cleaned up my code a bit, added a few REALLY SMALL tweaks... i come back to test on a PC IE one week later, and of coarse its broken again, and i cant see the reason as its perfect everywhere else. (as usual)

    sigh....

Can anyone see why the menu on the right is messed up again ???
(the background image in the "main" div is not going all the way to the right)

Ive also noticed that IE is ganking the footer a bit for some reason.

cheers, if anyone has a clue.

    Hi,

Yes the menu is messed up because you have added the comment tag above the doctype which has thrown ie6 into quirks mode and uses the broken box model.

Taking out the comment will make everything work ok.

However you will still need to account for the broken box model for ie 5 and ie 5.5. Have a look at the FAQ sticky thread for a full explanation on how to overcome this if you're not sure.

Anywhere that you have specified padding/borders and width (or height) for the same style will need to be accounted for.

    Hope that helps.
