    Hi guys,

    I was following the tutorial at http://www.devshed.com/Server_Side/A...ase/page6.html when I met up with a mysql error.

    I wonder if anyone can go through the tutorial and let me know what I did wrongly.

    At the section on "Creating a Database User", I received an error number 1146: "Table 'mysql.user' doesn't exist after execution of the following mySQL code segment.

    --------------
    mysql> GRANT usage
    -> ON example.*
    -> TO webuser@localhost;
    --------------

    What gives? What must I do to rectify?

    Caesar,

    Are you using shared hosting. If so chances are you don't have access to the mysql database, only to the database that you were assigned when signing up. Usually they will give you a username and password to access your database. You shouldn't need to grant rights to anyone. If this is not the case please repost your question and give us some more details.
    Please don't PM me with questions.
    Use the forums, that is what they are here for.

    Thanks, I've already solved this problem. Btw, I'm running php/mySQL on my Win98 computer.
