2-col layout problems

Hi All,

I've been working on a two column layout for a couple of days which I thought was working but it seems I have a problem.

The layout I am going for is at http://www.spibey.com/test/layout.gif and the site as it is can be found at http://www.spibey.com/test/

The problem I have is that I need the 'Content' section to be resizable. This should push the footer down and resize the 'left menu' to be the same size.

I'm stumped how to do this. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I looked at Paul O'Grady's 2 column layout which seems like it might fit the bill but the problem is that I need the main part of the page to be split horizontally as shown in the above layout. Does anyone have any pointers?
