    Hi all -

I'm looking for a Do-it-All type PHP script that will build an entire community, offer an automated search engine, and all that good stuff in one (big!) script.

I checked Hotscripts but didn't really know where to look (any ideas, pointers anyone?)

Basically I have a domain which has the potential of attracting/forming a large community. However the domain has just been sitting around for a while doing nothing. I'd like to utilize the domain by offering community services which can be automated to a high degree while at the same time having it depend as little as possible on me.

(I realize it sounds pointless running a website w/o wanting to maintian/run it, but such is the requirement in this case!)

I'd appreciate any help in this matter. Specifically looking for one (or a few scripts) that can help build/maintain a community, search engine (portal), other community-type features (e.g. polls, ratings etc.)

    Thanks a bunch!

If you know PHP you might want to dig into PHPNuke and take out the things that really slow it down (database calls, extra languages, etc.)

    Hmm, thanks for the link.

I visited the phpnuke page, and it seems to have a bunch of information. Is that phpnuke - I mean the page?

Kinda confused - does it provide forums, Yahoo! like search engine and categories, ability for users to submit stuff, and dynamic data plus interaction w/ users?

Tall order I know...! Do you guys know of any other script that could be of use to me?

    Thanks.

    Thanks iBram!

Yes, phpNuke seems like the right software for the job. Is it difficult to setup? I've just recently started with PHP, and am still not too comfortable with messing around - how difficult is the phpNuke installation?
Any other details that I should know of before going ahead with this?

    Thanks again!
