Seems to me that any regular user of the normal MS programs should make this upgrade as soon as possible. Otherwise, it's just one of those things that happen.
It kind of sucks when your in a corporate of 4000 people and simple updates like this arn't so simple.
It will interesting if someone actually did write an app that did that and sent out emails with a webpage and jpeg images within it. (The developer could put in some malicious code and do what they want.)
