delete Files In server using ASP

    Hello
    This is my requirement.
I have a Product and that product contains some documents. The documents are uploaded to server and can be viewed in my asp application.

In admin module i have given option to edit or delete that product. In the event of edit just the records in the database get changed. But in the case of delete i have to do 2 things
    1. Delete all the data related to that product.
    2. Delete all the related documents for that product in the server.

So can anybody help me figure out how to delete a file using asp in ftp server.
I am getting some efficient answers from this forum and hence put this question here so that i may get efficient answer myself and in future somebody may be benefitt using this answer.

    Thanks in advance
    vimal

    Hi Vimal,

I don't have the code off the top of my head but I recommend that you look at the VBScript or JScript (ASP) File System Object to delete your document.

you can use FSO where if you have put some alias or prefix related to the Id, all the documents could be deleted once the record is deleted. means, if the record is deleted, you can use FSO which will detect or search the file say 123abc.txt where 123 would be the Id and the abc is the document and is deleted simultaneously. look more in File System Objects.
