I currently use HTML-Kit. Many have recommended phpedit which I may switch over too.

if you use the search feature on this site for php editor you'll find countless threads on the topic with lots of great answers

DreamWeaver, as there is a plethora of plugins for PHP editing. DreamWeaver is great if you run an intranet and give DW access to sql. It gives you alot more click and drag control over your code.

I like Dreamweaver also, but mainly for it's intelli-sense and color coding of HTML. So far, nothing else color codes based on the tag itself that I'm aware of. If I'm wrong, please let me know, because Dreamweaver like to crash on me sometimes when I first start it up.

right now im using TSW webcoder, syntax highlighting and all, check it out. what are some of the plugins everyones using for Dreamweaver for PHP editing?

DreamWeaver MX color codes every PHP attribute correctly. It uses the same method of coloring that comes standart with php 4.3.x
Dreamweaver MX 2004. I'm looking at moving to Fedora Core or similar for development as well as another linux server I have here so I may be in the hunt for a new editor soon as well.

Sort of like notepad but with great highlighting for almost every programming language around. If you jump over to linux, I'd recommend it. Otherwise, notepad+ would be a great alternative.Originally Posted by MystaMax

I meant it colors all HTML tags differently, I knew it did it well in PHP.Originally Posted by nekeno12

I've been using quanta, now I use jedit, it's the best one I found to work on linux, so far... without installing (erm, compiling, I'm on Gentoo) a ton of libraries, of course![]()
I sometime use DW but if I feel very high I use notepad![]()

I use winsyntax 2.0. Love it, hooked on it, can't get away from it.![]()
